"Holy Fire, burn away my desire for anything that is not of You and is of me. I want more of You and less of me."
"Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds."
What do you do when you just don't feel like praying? I;ve stopped praying recently because I don't know what to say and somehow I feel restless. Thank you!
What do you do when you just don’t feel like eating? You eat. You can not have an appetite right now, but your hunger is still very real, and your body needs the food. So it is the same with our soul, we need prayer just as we need to breathe.
I think it’s important to know that not all prayer requires words, sometimes sitting in silence can be more deafening than all the words of man.
So pray, pray the Lord’s Prayer, pray a simple prayer, pray “Lord, I love You.”, pray with tears in your eyes, pray with joy in your heart, pray for family, for love, for healing, for glory to be known in God’s kingdom.
Even a child has the ear of God, should we not be just as eager to talk to our Abba as we are to someone we adore? It is not easy at first, but when we actively engage in prayer, we see a transformation happen; a transformation of our wants, to His desires.
"I’m not the girl your mother warns you about. I won’t kiss your best friend or break your heart. I won’t make you choose between what you love to do & me. I’m not cold. I’m not reckless. I will love you more than anything. I will kiss you when you cry. I will stand by your side until you decide otherwise."
"You have listened to fears, child,” said Aslan. “Come, let me breathe on you. Forget them. Are you brave again?"
I am so glad that the love of others - of God, of family, of friends, of my beloved - is constant, regardless of my feelings.
You say to God, “I have never seen you provide for me.” God says to you, “You have never trusted me.”
God makes dry trees loutish. So come to Him. Broken spirit and contrite heart.
